Iowa City

Father Catich had several connections to Iowa City, Iowa. There he earned his Masters Degree in 1935 at the state university, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church hung his first modernized set of Stations of the Cross, Catich was instrumental in the design of Regina Coeli Catholic Education Center and his book “ERIC GILL, His Social and Artistic Roots” was published in Iowa City.

Father had been involved in the planning of the Regina Coeli building from the very beginning. The major exterior features were in need of care. The Regina Coeli, two Angel panels on the exterior and a Madonna and Christ child on the interior of the High School were completed late 2011. The completed works are shown above, the work in progress is shown below.
